I am very pleased to learn that the DST-IIEST Solar PV Hub is being inaugurated by our Hon’ble Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” . DST-IIEST Solar PV Hub is a joint endeavour of Department of Science and Technology , Govt of India and IIEST, Shibpur , a premier educational institute of long heritage of excellence in Engineering Education in India. I have visited the Solar PV Hub at IIEST and I am greatly impressed by the state of art facilities created for the fabrication and characterization of high efficiency silicon solar cells and modules using mostly indigenous manufactured equipment . I do hope that DST-IIEST solar PV Hub will be of great help not only to the educational and research institutes of India but also to the Indian Solar manufacturing industries for their developmental effort for making cost effective high efficiency solar cells and modules in India in tune with our Prime Minister’s “Make in India” program . I wish that DST- IIEST solar Hub will grow further and continue to serve the society as an important activity of IIEST, Shibpur.
